This is a group for coordinating active NONVIOLENT resistance to the Trump administration. We take our names from the Sons of Liberty / Daughters of Liberty - two groups in pre-Revolutionary America that used a variety of means to resist the Crown. But more important than their specific actions was their ability to organize themselves, leading in 1775/1776 to the Continental Congresses, and eventually, the country we've inherited. WE are the inheritors of that legacy, no matter when our parents (or we) arrived. Now the torch has passed to us - to secure the blessings of liberty in our time and for the generations to come. We'll republish the diaries here that call for specific, concrete action on a variety of fronts. We'll especially look for ideas about how to protect the people most vulnerable in this crisis: Muslims, recent immigrants (legal or not), DREAMers, African-Americans and LGBT folks. Our first mission is to think through what he might do, especially if there is any excuse at all for him to declare a State of Emergency, and prepare a rapid response I believe that it's much easier to respond to a crisis if you've already thought things through in advance - like evacuation plans in hurricane country. Some of us cannot risk arrest under any circumstances, others have less to lose. I think there will be a need for all of us.
